Here's my issue. Upgraded to TWC new modem router combo and a new wifi smart TV. Noticed that I would sometimes be kicked off the PSN (Playstation Network) and then be signed out on it's own. Now I bought a PS4 and can only stay online for about 30 minutes and bam kicks me off. Ran a speed test on the ps4 and wasn't even getting 1 KB on down load or upload. Sony says you need at least 10.0 KB to stay on. TWC says the same thing. TWC went through the router changing channels and got it better. Was @ 14.4 DL once but it went back to 10.1 which is enough. then 20 minutes after TWC configured all that crap bam kicked off. Did the test and back to 1.0 or less and it stayed there the rest of the night. WTF. TWC is now telling me that I will have to hardwire the PS4? ? Are you kidding me? We had very little issue a year ago, now it's a pain in the ass. Esp bad with this new router crap thingy. Will I be better off getting a different router and modem or see if they can switch out this current crap one? I mean come on it's 2015, this should not be rocket science.

I'm no expert but I've never had good luck with Modem\WIFI combo units from any provider. My suggestion would be to disable WIFI on the router combo unit and get a good WIFI Extender or something similar and hard wire it to one of the ports on the Combo unit. My home network has 8-10 active WIFI devices at any given time and I installed this unit to replace the WIFI on my combo unit and haven't had any issues since. www.walmart.com/ip/D-Link-DAP-1650-Wireless-network-extender-10Mb-LAN-100Mb-LAN-GigE-802.11a/37817495Good Luck.

they fixed it. TWC guy come out and he was pretty cool. He said yea their equipment isn't the best, but "let me mess with it" . He said he did nothing but kinda winked and since. I'm getting 12-15 MB to the PS4. So I think he saw something they had screwed up and took care of it. I bought a wifi extender going off his advise but I haven't hooked it up because it's working great. Think I'm gonna get my $40 back.
