Long story short, I'm trying to change the paint on a car file I'm using in my qual race on Tues. I have no artistic abilities, I can not paint paint schemes, and am acquainted with Gimp 2.8 about 9 hours. I've figured out mostly everything and am almost done. Except one thing...
How do I take the left rear quarter panel (that usually has a sponsor scrawled across it), copy the image/text, turn it 180 degrees, and paste it to the right rear quarter panel?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
P.S.: I'm racing this car for a buddy in memory of his sister, so what my paint lacks in pizzazz, it makes up in heart.

This part I want to copy is part of a layer that has the whole left side on it. Haven't found a way to copy that portion of the layer and put it on another layer to rotate it.

is there a magic lasso selection tool in Gimp, if so use that and draw around what you want and HIT CTRL+V, then rotate that layer.

Wooo! It was lasso tool, Ctrl C, rotate 180 deg, then Crtl V. Ok, got it done. Thanks for your help Kevin, much appreciated.

I like your car Paul. It actually looks like you took Bart's backup car off the Hauler. Peeled off some of his logos and then added your own. It's different and interesting but it works. Good job.
